Food
Packaging is defined as a coordinated system for preparing food for
transportation, distribution, storage, retailing, end use to satisfy the
ultimate consumer with optimal cost and most importantly protecting the food
from any kind of physical or chemical harm.
Food packaging is an
essential part of the modern world; commercially processed food could not be
handled distributed safely and efficiently without packaging.
The World packaging organization states that about 25% of the food is wasted due to poor packaging. Thus it is clear from this point that good packaging plays a vital role in the food industry.
