The Friends of Lake Meadows is a voluntary organisation working with Basildon Borough Council, Billericay Town Council to help care for Lake Meadows park for the benefit of the community.

Basildon can really boast about its variety of town parks.

The four fishing lakes at Newlands total approximately 10 acres. They are all very well managed, very tidy and are heavily stocked. There is ample close by parking, toilets and drinking water.
