Sherwood Forest National Nature Reserve is home to the 1000 year old Major Oak and legendary home of the world's most famous outlaw, Robin Hood.

Home to an array of weird, wonderful and increasingly threatened wildlife. A blend of ancient woodland & the largest area of heathland remaining in the Midlands.

Wildlife highlights include bitterns, brown hares, bearded tits, marsh harriers, avocets, wintering wildfowl, starling mumurations and colourful wildflowers.

Spectacular wetland site covering 450 hectares following the River Idle northwards. One of the largest nature conservation in the East Midlands.
