Birthplace of the modern co-operative movement, it was here on 21 December 1844, that the Rochdale Pioneers opened their store.

The Whitworth Heritage Museum is open to the public on Tuesdays from 7.30 to 9.30pm, and Saturdays from 2 to 4pm.
