General information

After bursting onto the rock’n’roll scene in 1958 with the hit single Move It, Cliff Richard was soon hailed as Britain’s answer to Elvis Presley.

Over 50 years and a knighthood later, Sir Cliff is still active in the music industry, but he also finds time to produce world-class wines from his vineyard in Portugal. He’s very much involved in producing the wines and can often be seen getting his hands dirty in the vineyard.

Adega do Cantor translates as Winery of the Singer and is situated in Guia in the centre of the Algarve.

Built to a bespoke design, Adega do Cantor is a 200-tonne boutique winery. It was built to produce wine, principally the Vida and Onda Nova ranges. They are Quinta do Moinho, Quinta do Miradouro and Vale do Sobreiro.

Most of the vineyard operations are done by hand in a sustainable manner using only the mildest agricultural products to prevent disease. At harvest, all the grapes are manually picked with the gentlest touch in accordance with the policy of creating superior wine.

Together the vineyards produce the region’s greatest wines using a combination of traditional and innovative winemaking techniques.
