General information

Evisense is a revolutionary web application that will capture events in a child’s journey throughout their education. Evisense will be used as a Teacher’s Tool to store evidence of a pupil’s progress and achievements via photos, videos and documents, perfectly complementing our existing Connecting Steps software.

Ease of Access
Teaching staff will be able to access Evisense via mobile devices (iOS, Android and Kindle Fire) or via a web browser. The system will be available on a multi-language platform, so each school can select their language of choice. Evisense will be provided as a hosted service, which means all data will be stored on our cloud storage system. In terms of looking after data, schools already trust us with data for some 87,000 pupils, and teaching staff add an average of 32,000 assessment points into our Connecting Steps assessment software every day, so we have a proven track record for reliability.

Pupil Profile
The system will be very user friendly. Teachers simply take a photo or video, tag it with the student’s name, and it will be stored within the Pupil Profile page. The entry can also be linked with the relevant subject, Step or assessment point within our Connecting Steps software, supporting the improvement recorded within our established assessment framework.

Teacher’s Wall
All pupils within the class or group will be displayed on a Teacher’s Wall. Additionally, teaching staff will be able to add posts and comments, annotating the evidence captured. The information held will serve as a permanent record, so teachers and parents can look back at how the pupil has progressed during their time in the school. The photos and videos can also be used as evidence for judgements made by teachers, criteria often requested by Ofsted.

Evisense as a Tool for Communication
Teaching staff will be able to use the information stored as a communication tool, not only internally within the school setting, but also crucially for both parents and students. Not only will Evisense provide parents with far more frequent updates on their children’s progress, empowering them to feel more involved, but schools will also be able to send out newsletters and class- specific information using the software.
