General information

McGill’s is Scotland’s largest privately-owned bus company, with depots in Barrhead, Greenock, Hamilton, Inchinnan and Johnstone.

A Scottish Insider top 500 company, we have close to 1000 employees across our five depots and operate over 400 buses across 110 routes, serving North Ayrshire, Renfrewshire, East Renfrewshire, Inverclyde, North Lanarkshire and Glasgow City.

Every week, there are close to three-quarters of a million journeys on a McGill’s bus. Our company prides itself on high-level of customer service, and invests heavily in driver training and development. We have developed our own in-house training school within our Johnstone depot.

McGill’s has made substantial investment in its fleet in recent years. In the last three months of 2014, we invested £4.6m in vehicles, with a further £3.5m planned for 2015. Our vision is to provide a public transport network that is modern, efficient and integrated with other modes.

In February 2015, the company achieved its Investors in Young People accreditation and recently came 2nd in the 2015 Bus Driver of the Year annual awards.
