The Time Bomb - The Rise and Rise of Obesity.

In the UK, two-thirds of the population are overweight or obese. This figure has grown more than 400% in the last 25yrs.
In the 1960’s Dr Alan Howard and other research scientists, began to investigate ways to help obese patients. Extensive clinical trials took place as the formulation was perfected. Formally the Cambridge Diet, providing 100% of the Recommended Daily Allowance of all nutrients, was launched in the USA in 1980 and in the UK in 1984. Now The Cambridge Weight Plan, often referred to “as the most researched diet in the world” has been refined, flavors have been improved, and all products comply with the Government’s NICE Guidance.
The CWP is a flexible plan to suit everyone, the products range from shakes, soups, bars, and porridge's. They form the basis for six distinct weight loss programmes, or Steps, with varying calorie intake to suit individual needs and lifestyle.
At Step 1 (Sole Source) conventional food is replaced with three or four complete CWP meals per day. Step 5, the 1500kcal regime, is for more conventional eating, or those who prefer to lose weight gradually. The long-term goal is to stabilise weight at the desired level. This is just as important as the weight loss phase and is another of the distinct advantages of the C W. P.
