General information
Chantry School of Contemporary & Balletic Arts is the official Education Department and vocational school of the UK contemporary ballet company, Chantry Dance Company. It offers vocational full-time training for ages 16+ with our 3 Year Diploma Course, and various Associate Programmes for students at pre-vocational or vocational level.
The school was formed by Chantry Dance Company's co-Artistic Directors, Paul Chantry and Rae Piper, in order to provide a holistic dance training that prepares dancers for the profession. Underpinning this training is Chantry Dance Company itself, which offers students of Chantry School continuous support through employment and further development opportunities.
The school recognises that dance is a vocation, and the dancer first and foremost is an artist. In order to encourage the development of this artist, students are taught within an environment of discovery, support, rigor, discipline and respect.
