General information

Philip Wise is a qualified Osteopath who founded his Maidstone clinic in 2006 and has been very proficient in the treatment of neck & back pain, with the majority of his patients coming as referrals from satisfied clients.

Philip graduated with a BSc Honours degree from the European School of Osteopathy, where he currently works as a lecture assistant, lecturer and an examiner, helping to create the next generation of Osteopaths.

Svetlana Wise M.D, D.O, is practising at Baks Osteopathy Ltd as a Craniosacral Therapist and provides pain relief for Back Pain, Neck Pain, Sciatica and Muscle pain for all the family, She specialises in the treatment of women and children. She can also help with Postural problems, certain types of Headaches & Stress relief.

Svetlana graduated in medicine in 1994 and undertook post-graduate training in Osteopathy at the European School of Osteopathy in Maidstone and The John Wernham College of Classical Osteopathy.

From there, Svetlana worked in the Russian Academy of Osteopathic Medicine as the Head of Education and Osteopathic Clinic Tutor. She also spend many years working with Babies and children at the Children's clinic there.
It is because of this that Svetlana has a particular speciality in the treatment of children and babies.

Although osteopaths treat many conditions, most people think of us as ‘back specialists’. Back pain is what many osteopaths treat a lot of the time. Osteopathic treatment does not just target the symptoms, but also treats the parts of the body that have caused the symptoms.

Osteopaths have a holistic approach and believe that your whole body will work well if your body is in good structural balance, Imagine, for example, a car that has one of its front wheels not quite pointing straight. It may run well for a while, but after a few thousand miles, the tyre will wear out.

You can apply this example to the human body, which is why it is so important to keep the body in good balance. We use a wide range of techniques, including massage, cranial techniques (sometimes referred to as 'cranial osteopathy') and joint mobilisation. This breadth of approach allows us to focus on every patient’s precise needs and to treat them using a tailor made, individual treatment plan.
