General information

Ryton Pools Cycle Hire is Ryton Pools’ new bicycle hire centre located in front of the Information Centre at the park. Open throughout the school summer holidays and for the rest of the year subject to weather, this exciting service brings new dimensions of fun to a family day out.

We cater for adults, children, experienced and novice cyclists by offering a range of bikes and karts that are unusual and at the forefront of cycle design. It gives parents and children the chance to try something new in a safe environment and get some health boosting exercise too!

The bikes and karts are of a very high standard – from the award winning Nihola Family to the KMX Childs Sports Trike. Adults can join the kids on a thrilling ride by hiring KMX adult karts or more conventional bikes if you prefer. If the kids want to stick to what they know, we have some of the best children’s bikes available - made by Frog. The cargo bikes and karts can be suitable for children with special needs too.

Bikes can be hired for a minimum period of 1 hour up to a maximum of 4 hours. The park has plenty of tracks and areas to explore, an adventure playground, great areas to picnic and is a fantastic place for a family day out.

All hire charges include the free use of a helmet, some instruction and you’re good to go.
