Integrated acupuncture consists of two main styles of practice: Five Element Constitutional Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). The former treats the patient's deepest constitutional imbalance. The latter treats other energetic patterns as well as acute imbalances. This combination allows one to treat patients with a wide variety of conditions, both chronic and acute.
The fundamental principle of acupuncture is to restore balance and harmony of body and mind,
re-establishing order to system malfunction, treating both the cause of disease and the manifesting symptoms and/or pain. As treatment is aimed at the root cause of the condition as well as the symptom, a more permanent solution to the problem can be found. Acupuncture does not solely focus on the indicated problem, but the entire body and mind as an integrated health system.
