Home Cook School aims to provide a unique, educational and fun experience for anyone who would like to improve their cooking skills.

Home Cook School delivers cooking lessons in the comfort of your own home or at the Home Cook School tutor's home in Maybole, South Ayrshire. Cooking lessons will be tailor made to suit your individual tastes, interests and requirements. Home Cook School aims to develop your cooking skills and knowledge regardless of whether you are an absolute beginner or a keen Home Cook.

Through initial discussions prior to the lesson, your tutor Lindsay will help you plan a menu. She will provide plenty sample menu ideas - don't worry! Lessons can be taken individually or in small groups of up to four people (if you have the lesson in your own home, just make sure you consider how many people can comfortably fit in your kitchen)!

If you decide to have your lesson at home you will be provided with a shopping list so you can gather the ingredients prior to the session. Lessons at home should be relaxing and convenient - don't worry if your kitchen doesn't have all the mod-cons! We will work with what you have. Lessons are designed so you can easily recreate them without the need for any expensive gadgets!

All customers will be given recipe cards for all the dishes you make so you can practice at home. You can tuck into your culinary creations after the lesson (or during for that matter!)

There are three lesson options if you want an 'all inclusive' lesson at the Home Cook School kitchen, Maybole, Ayrshire.

This lesson option is for a minimum booking of two people. Depending on the size of your party, you may be joined by other learners -this can be a lot of fun! This option normally takes place at the Home Cook School kitchen in Maybole but contact us if you would like it in another venue.

2 hour lesson - You will cook at least 3 dishes and eat as you go. Price £60 pp. (This includes all ingredients, tea or coffee and shortbread.)

3 hour lesson - You will cook at least 4 dishes during the session and stop to enjoy nibbles and a compliemtary glass of wine. Price £80 pp. (This includes all ingredients, tea or coffee and shortbread.)

6 hour full day lesson - You will cook around 6 dishes and have the meal during the lesson. You may also visit a local Ayrshire farm shop to select some of the ingredients for your lesson - dependant on the menu you choose. Price £135 pp. (This includes all ingredients, tea or coffee, shortbread and complimentary 1/2 bottle of wine per person.)

There are three lesson options if you want a private lesson in your own kitchen:

This could be a one-to-one session for just you or for a small group of up to four people of your choosing! A private lesson is the same price regardless of whether it is for one person or four people. Home Cook School will give you a shopping list and you will provide the ingredients based on how many will be taking part in the class. Private lessons normally take place in your kitchen (this includes holiday lets).

2 hour lesson (where you can cook at least 3 dishes and can enjoy the meal after your lesson). Price £80

3 hour lesson (you will cook at least 4 dishes, you will stop and enjoy nibbles during the session). Price £110

6 hour full day lesson (you will cook around 6 dishes and have the meal during the lesson). Depending on the menu you choose, you may also visit a local Ayrshire farm shop to choose some of the ingredients that will go into your delicious meal. Price £210
