General information
Here at the Academy we oversee all age groups (under 17) cricket at Leyland Cricket Club. It is our aim to provide a welcoming atmosphere, the chance to enjoy cricket and the opportunity to develop every player’s ability. We also encourage fitness and wellbeing as well as developing teamwork for all our local youngsters. We run winter and summer coaching for boys and girls up to the age of 17.
Furthermore we have competitive teams that play in the Palace Shield competitions from under 10 upwards. As a club we have been thrilled at the growth of junior cricket, in Leyland, over the years. On a typical Friday summer evening, there is likely to be over a hundred youngsters attending coaching.
Last year we had over 25 players representing the South Ribble District, and also had over a dozen playing for Lancashire - with two of our girls playing in the county team that won the national county championship.
