Question: Does my roof need to face south?
Answer: No, your roof does not need to face south. Although a south facing roof at 30° offers the best annual output, east or west facing roofs can and do function extremely well. As an alternative or in addition to roof mounted systems, ground mounted PV panels are ideal for properties with land or properties which are north facing.

Question: Does Solar PV only work on sunny days?
Answer: No, solar PV continues to work whenever there is any light, however the amount of electricity generated on a dull day is lower than on a sunny day.

Question: Do I need planning permission?
Answer: No, planning permission only tends to be required in conservation areas or if the property is listed.

Question: Will the Solar PV System require regular maintenance?
Answer: No, the systems we supply and install requires very little maintenance.

Question: How long does installation take?
Answer: This is dependent on the property and number of panels to be installed, however is usually takes around 2-3 days to complete an average installation. We are more than happy to undertake installations over a weekend.

Question: What is the difference between Solar PV and Solar Thermal?
Answer: Solar PV uses the sun’s energy to move electrons and create a direct current (DC) which is changed to an alternating current (AC) using the grid connect Inverters, Solar Thermal units heat up a water/glycol mix inside the units this heat is then transferred to a hot water tank inside the property. Solar PV produces electricity, solar thermal heats up water.
