Steampunk Jewellery, What is Steampunk?????

While steampunk has been active for some time,
it's early 2000s that it's become more well known.
This surge in popularity may be due to more prominent movements,
such as goth & punk.
Steampunk arose out of the ashes of the goth, punk and industrial movements

Steampunk takes its cue from the Victorian era,
And speculates on how our world would be different if steam power
had become the driving force behind our culture.
Often fantastical & containing elements of science fiction,
authors such as Jules Verne and H.G. Wells are important influences within steampunk and its fashions.

Steampunk has an obsession with time.
As such, watch's of all types, inc pocket watch's are popular.
In fact, clock parts are often used in the construction of individual pieces.
Gears, keys & watch hands are used to decorate larger pieces,
as are bits of antique cast-offs, such as pill cases, thread cutters, lighters and tiny knives.

**That Said, Steampunk is Very Popular as an Alternative Jewellery IE:-
Something different not like normal costume jewellery that's made in bulk.
Being handmade means that you will NEVER see an identical piece EVER.**
