Everyone loves their dogs, but at times they can be hard work and without understanding what is going on and how to make it better, things could just get worse.

My name is William Brown MBPSCA and this is where I come in.

I have over 12 years of Military Service and 7 years as Urban Dog behind me meaning I possess a vast knowledge and experience base to draw from which includes:-

* Training and handling Military Working Dogs in Afghanistan.
* Competition/ Dog Trial Standard Obedience and Agility.
* Instructing MWD handling and training methods to students that are due to deploy to Afghanistan.
* A Level 2 Diploma in Work Based Animal Care (animal care and welfare).
* BTEC Level 4 Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector.
* Intermadiate Apprenticeship in Work Based Animal Care.
* Expansive back library and training studies.
* Dog Training Class 1, 2 and 3 Qualifications completed at the Defence Animal Centre.

Using this experience and knowledge coupled with daily training, my aim is to help everyone to become a team with their dog, a partnership with their pet and a family with their friend.

And above everything I can teach your pet, there is something more important…

This is without a doubt, just as or even more important than what the dog will learn.

Everything travels down the lead and every action with a dog has a consequence.

Our Ethos & Training methods

Dog Training is a profession that is on the whole unregulated, here at Urban Dog we believe that your dog should receive training that will not punish hurt, distress or scare them. Just in line with how we should treat each other.
Methods that have been debunked and left behind for more positive and rewarding training will not be used (NO shocks, NO choking, NO pinning, NO dominance, NO alpha, NO bullying)

Now you may find yourself hearing or even thinking 'Its always been done this way, why change'.. Well to this I would say, slavery was done how it was for centuries, doesn't make it the rite way.
If you do decide on training, but not with us (distance etc) then I implore you to ensure your trainer has a positive, force free and ethical approach.

Urban Dog Social Walk

Here at Urban Dog our belief is that all dogs benefit from social interaction, and to this end I give the opportunity to everyone to bring along their dogs to a free Social walk for owners who wish to let their dogs get accustomed to other dogs and receive some hints and tips while out and about.
Event posts are put on Facebook and everyone is welcome to come along, but please inform us beforehand of any major issues your dog has as training may be beneficial prior to attendance.

How this works…

What will happen if you get in touch,

- We will agree a time for me to meet the dog and asses both the dog and handler(s), this may be in a local park, a field or in the home dependant on what if any issues the dog may have.
- I will come up with a training regime and an action plan.
- If agreed upon, training will commence with a progress report and Continuation Training Programme being made up for each session and for any other lessons/ issues identified by you.
- If progress is successful, a new training programme will be made up and an aftercare service will be offered which will include periodic check-ups and extra training if needed.

Welcome to our Urban Dog Glasgow Home Daycare!
We are now ready to start offering a daycare facility up to 4! times per week (weekends exclusive without notice) at a competitive rate and with small group assurances.
Our daycare will be based at our home, (with an average of 4 dogs, size regulating) in our back garden with home access, acres of fields less than 20ft away plus almost 10 parks within 20 mins!
We will do everything that you should want your dogs to do whilst you are out. (search, play, run, swim, tricks, training & more)
There may be a taxi/ pick up/ drop off service available, but this is on a case by case basis.
Skype, Groomer, FB Vid chat, special requests, 1 on 1 time etc all avail at request and with members discounts.
