Hypnobirthing is a unique antenatal program that teaches simple but specific self-hypnosis and relaxation techniques for an easier, gentler birth. Whilst other antenatal classes focus on the physical and practical preparation for birth, hypnobirthing is unique because it also supports your emotional preparation for birth.
Pregnant women do not need to be "trained to give birth", when left undisturbed they can do that instinctively! However in this fast paced world, with negative media around birth and over medicalisation, women have definitely lost the ability to relax, believe in their bodies and to trust their own natural instincts.
Hypnobirthing is about getting rid of fear and allowing your mind and body to relax so that you can birth gently and confidently. It is simple, logical and practical and extremely effective. Feeling calm and confident in labour helps your body to work efficiently and helps to release endorphins, your body’s natural anaesthetic. Hypnobirthing can reduce the need for pain relief in labour and shorten labour and makes you more likely to experience a natural, calm, comfortable birth.

Hypnobirthing actively involves the father and you will both learn skills that are helpful in everyday life and instill confidence in your ability to birth easily and to feel ready for your role as parents.

Hypnobirthing also has most profound effect on the baby and women who Hypnobirth report their babies are calmer, feed easily and sleep well.

Hypnobirthing does not promise a perfect outcome or to totally eliminate discomfort, but it does empower you to be calm, make informed choices and enjoy a positive birthing experience. In my Hypnobirthing classes you will learn to trust your body’s natural ability to birth gently and easily- I will teach you how to get out of your own way and let your bodies get on with the work of birthing!
