Himalayas Tea Company Information
General information
Many ideas about some unique projects come to people accidentally. Mine came at the altitude of 30,000 ft. Some 5 years ago, I was traveling to Europe on vacation and I read an article in the magazine about herbal and flavoured non-traditional types teas such as black tea and its various forms of sister brands which we have been accustomed to. The article mentioned about hundred of different flavours and outlined its health benefits from heart and cancer ailments to good health. I was intrigued by these claims and decided to learn more about it. The article mentioned that although tea is the most widely consumed beverage in the world the market potential of the flavoured and blended tea has not been fully exploited although the annual growth of these exotic teas is slowly increasing. But it lags behind our beverage products. Thus the idea of Himalayas Tea was born.
My name is Mary and I am an entrepreneur by nature who likes challenges in business. I work on a simple business philosophy that success comes through proper research and understanding of the business and hard work. And once I saw the prospect of this venture I put my business philosophy to work.
In pursuit of my new interest I traveled to research tea producing countries around the world and to understand its climatic factors that ultimately determines its quality and flavours. I also wanted to learn about tastes of people in other countries. To understand the merits and the claims about the business, I traveled to Kenya, South Africa, China, India, Sri Lanka, Japan, Vietnam and various countries in Europe and the Middle East. In addition to understanding the agricultural aspect I also learnt about the blending process and the filtration process. Filtration is a unique process that ultimately determines the good quality of the tea. All our products are first imported from our world wide suppliers to our facility in Europe and after proper filtration process is conducted, we confirm the quality control, which is rigourous before importing the teas into the United Kingdom.
After visiting all these countries and communicating with producers in other countries I decided to launch this tea business. One principle that guides my business criteria is ‘Always buy teas from the most reputable producers and NEVER to compromise on its quality’. I started to supply our tea products to buyers in Europe and in Canada and got feed back on our quality and consumer acceptability. And on August 25th I launched my first tea Shop/Room in Stockport, 21a Middle Hillgate. SK1 3AY. Tel: 0161 425 1458 This is the first step towards pursuing my greater dream. I intend to franchise Mount Himalayas Teas in the U.K. and eventually else where in Europe and in North America. After all franchising is not a prerogative of a selected few beverage names. This is a growing business and I am looking for like-minded entrepreneurs to join me in this exciting venture.
