"How to Massage People who have Dementia" is an award winning one day course which gives you a comprehensive toolbox of skills and approaches.

You will gain knowledge to underpin your own expertise so that you can competently and confidently provide massage & meaningful touch to those who need it most but are least likely to ask on a truly individual basis.

The course covers legislation and permission, and gives you a grounding on what dementia is and how it may impact a person, giving you a solid base with which to springboard into this field and further research.

As well as providing skills to hands on therapists such as massage therapists and reflexologists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, chiropractors and osteopaths, this course, has equipped nurses who wish to bring nurturing touch to their patients' bedside and provide comfort on a night-shift; it has provided carers with insights as to opportunities to bring nurturing touch into all aspects of personal & daily care improving relationships and turning neutral care into beautifully positive care; it has provided loved ones with skills to help the road become less rocky and an ability to communicate without words; it has provided dementia liaison nurses with confidence to bring touch to memory cafes confidently; and it has inspired some students to go on and qualify fully in this rewarding field.
