General information

TLC is a London based international company founded in 1997 by Greek artists living and working in the UK. The Company has a reputation for mesmerizing theatrical imagery, physical theatre and devised experimental work. Words, music, images and movement are brought together to create dynamic theatre that crosses the boundaries of culture, language, taboo and medium.

TLC productions are the result of working with artists using a diverse range of sources and ideas. Language is used in a powerfully dramatic and visual way to communicate, through silences, conflicts, emotional states, and finely tuned physical choreography, to explore and expand the multi-layered ideas that unfold and captivate our audiences. Inspiration for the development of projects comes from the forefront of world experimental theatre, experimental work by a dynamic group of artists, and working with open and diverse texts and other mediums to explore new possibilities.

TLC is unique in its promotion, production and translation of challenging contemporary Greek theatre by some of Greece's most esteemed playwrights. A selection of the plays have been published in two volumes by Arcadia (for more see publications). Theatre Lab received the 1997 Hellenic Foundation Award for its presentation of the first English translation of a contemporary Greek play - The Parade by Loula Anagnostaki.
