Stephen Gregory MSc BSc(Hons) PGCert BAOT is Founder and Director of Play Potential, an Independent Practitioner and Paediatric Neurological Occupational Therapist.

Located in Twickenham, Middlesex, we offer mainstream and specialist occupational therapy services throughout the Greater London area.

Play Potential is a private, independent occupational therapy consultancy. We specialise in the neurological rehabilitation of children and young people. We provide a friendly, professional, and high quality occupational therapy service throughout the Greater London area to the private sector, local education authorities, schools and the NHS. We are extremely proud of the many word-of-mouth referrals we receive; which is testament to our outstanding work ethic, skills, experience and knowledge.

We combine skills, experience and sound clinical knowledge with evidence-based practice, and client- and family-centred principles to deliver exceptionally high quality care to each and every one of our young clients - whether at home, nursery, school, clinic or hospital.

We provide the following services to children and young people aged birth - 25 years:
1) Specialist neurological occupational therapy and rehabilitation;
2) General (mainstream) occupational therapy;
3) Hand therapy and orthotics (casting & splinting); and
4) Local education authority and special school consultancy (LEA-SS): We provide a consultancy service to local education authorities (LEAs) and schools for children with special educational needs (special schools [SS]) in England. This includes training and managing school Occupational Therapists, and designing and implementing individual 'models' of practice specific to each school to promote inter-professional collaboration between therapists and teaching staff at special schools. Moreover, as advocates of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF), we educate and train teaching staff in special schools about the use of the ICF in their school.
5) Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plan contributions: In cases where a child or young person has been approved an EHC Plan, we will be delighted to contribute towards the preparation of the EHC Plan; the purpose of which is to make special educational provision to meet the special educational needs of the child or young person, to secure the best possible outcomes for them across education, health and social care and, as they get older, prepare them for adulthood.
6) We offer a needs assessment and appeals service. As an expert witness, Stephen is experienced at giving evidence in special educational needs appeals and disability discrimination hearings. Typically, this process includes a comprehensive assessment of your child, at least one school visit, discussion with education staff, discussion with at least one parent/guardian of the child, discussion with the child (if they have the capacity, of course), and discussion with other relevant professionals involved in your child's care. This is followed by a very detailed Assessment Report approximately 45 pages in length, which is submitted as written evidence to the tribunal panel members. The written report will detail your child's special educational needs and also the special educational provision required to meet those needs. Should the recommendations not be agreed by both parties prior to the hearing date, Stephen is experienced at giving evidence by representing appellants at the tribunal hearing against the respondent authority.
