Ribble Valley Dance

General information

With two custom designed dance studios based at the heart of Clitheroe, we are a friendly, professional dance school dedicated to nurturing young talent and enthusiasm.

Offering IDTA training in Ballet, Tap, Modern Jazz, Theatrecraft and Musical Theatre. We support our theatre dance syllabus with Streetdance, Acrobatic Arts & 'Progressing Ballet Technique'.

For Adult dancers of all ages, we offer classes in Ballet & Tap, along with Pilates, Zumba Gold and Bootybarre fitness classes.

The school has been established for many years (previously known as Mary Waddington School of Dancing), becoming Ribble Valley Dance in 2010 under the current Principal Lindsay Pollard.

Lindsay is an IDTA Fellow & Theatre Examiner, offering professional training in a wide variety dance subjects, and is also a Choreographer for musical theatre and commercial performances.

Students are offered opportunities to perform on stage in our school productions, along with other stage work, charity and commercial events.

Our students regularly go on to attend vocational colleges and training schools, with our dancers having undertaken training at Royal Ballet School Junior, Mid and Senior Associates, Northern Ballet CAT training, Phil Winstons Theatre Works, Wilkes Academy, Edgehill University, West End Stage summer school, Northern Ballet summer school and Sylvia Young summer school. Many have gone on to accept professional theatre contracts.

Our students are regularly selected to dance at the IDTA Theatre Awards, held annually in Manchester, with a number of successful Special Commendations.
