General information
The first cricket match played on the Swans Nest Lane ground took place on Saturday June 2nd 1894 between Stratford 1st XI and Flowers Brewery, meaning that Stratford-upon-Avon Cricket Club has played at the same venue for almost 120 years. Tree lined and overlooked by the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, it is one of the most picturesque grounds in the region, and has played host to a number of Warwickshire’s First Class matches, as well as a women’s One Day International.
For the 2015 season the Club will be represented by three senior teams; 1st XI and 2nd XI in the Birmingham & District Premier League, 3rd XI in the Cotswold Hills League, and a Sunday XI called ‘The Avonsiders’.
The Club also has a thriving junior section with various sides from U10 to U17, and will be competing in the Warwickshire Cricket Board competitions.
