General information

My name is Helen and I understand how difficult it can be to take a first step towards choosing counselling; finding the right person to work with is daunting.

Counselling can be lots of different things for different people but essentially it offers an opportunity to talk through issues with someone who is neutral and empathic about things which you are finding it hard to talk about and are causing unhappiness or distress.

Counselling is not about giving you advice, telling you what to do, or giving you answers but can help you to make some sense of what is happening to you and support you while you seek to move forward in your own way and in your own time.

I am a qualified CRUSE bereavement counsellor and hence have specific expertise working with those who are bereaved. My experience is also in working with pre-bereavement, life threatening illnesses, trauma, stress, depression, anxiety, major life changes and the day to day challenges faced by individuals.

I work within North Bristol and North Somerset and rent a comfortable, confidential and safe space for clients, easily accessible by public transport or car.
