Welcome to Verchiel Jewellery, Swindons new Jewellery, Bead and Findings shop. Situated in the craft village at Blooms Garden Centre, nr Wroughton Swindon.

Weekly Jewellery Making workshops are available suitable for Adults and Children, all of which can be booked online. The workshops in the shop are run by myself and I also have the pleasure of teaching a number of Jewellery Making courses at Swindon New College and Marlborough College Summer School.

I have worked for 20 years in the financial services Industry, which has given me the understanding of what’s important to customers and meeting their needs and simply ensuring they get the best service possible. Whilst I enjoyed this time, my passion has and always will be with Jewellery! I have always dreamt of having my own Jewellery shop since I was a little girl, sat on my Gran’s lap admiring her wonderful pieces of Jewellery. I guess it’s in the genes!

My Gran (Mary Holloway) worked in the well know Jewellery Quarter, which is still a central attraction in Birmingham. Mary had a real eye for Jewellery and I am fortunate enough to have had some of her pieces passed down to me. Not only are they beautiful, but most importantly, sentimental pieces, which are a reminder of the bond we shared and also a part of our family history. Regardless of the value of a piece of Jewellery, they can be so poignant and meaningful to us – how many of us keep trinkets in our Jewellery box that remind us of a moment in time? Items we will never part with!

My Great Grandfather (George Holloway) also worked in the Jewellery Quarter as a silversmith and we still have pieces he made for his wife. My Father (John Fitter) had a part time job at 16 where he would transport Diamonds from one end of Birmingham to another and deliver them ready to be set into Jewellery.

My Mom (Chris Fitter, formerly Holloway) also shares my passion for Jewellery and we spend many hours looking at new pieces and exchanging ideas. My daughter Emily, who is 12, is also inheriting the same love & is starting to make Jewellery with me. I am blessed with a wonderful family that are always there to support me:- my wonderful partner Lyn and our lovely children, Hannah, Charlotte, Dominic, Emily and David.
