General information

I am a qualified Adult and Child Counsellor and a registered member of the BACP offering individual and couple counselling sessions in Colchester. Individual sessions are offered to children, adolescents and adults. Couple sessions are offered to any two people who both want to work on their relationship; this could be partners, parent and child, or siblings.

People often come to therapy for a specific reason, a life event or some area of difficulty that is troubling them. Or perhaps there is no specific event that you can name but a feeling of being lost or confused, experiencing anxiety or depression. By offering a non-judgemental empathetic space for clients to explore thoughts and feelings, I can help clients find the clarity and understanding they are looking for.

My assessment and overall approach is usually drawn from person-centred therapy, which means I hold a safe, empathetic space for you to talk and explore your feelings; gently offering questions and observations on what I hear you saying so that you can further investigate and understand yourself. However, as a uniquely trained Integral Therapist, I have studied many models of therapy (such as Gestalt; psycho-dynamic; CBT) and can draw on this range of knowledge to use techniques and exercises that may help you best at that moment.

I generally suggest starting with six sessions and then we can decide together how to continue.

I am a Registered Member of the BACP and as such I follow their code of conduct and adhere to their ethical framework.

I attend regular supervision sessions with a senior practitioner to ensure that my work remains at a high standard.

I am currently studying for a Diploma in Supervision.

I have worked in Mental Health care settings since 2004, working in numerous roles and environments, including The Priory Hospital. These experiences have enabled me to work with a variety of people experiencing a range of difficulties and disorders. Including but not limited to eating disorders; addictions; depression; anxiety; and personality disorders.

Cancellations
I do ask for 48 hours notice of cancellations otherwise my full fee will be charged.
