Classics For All

General information

Classics For All raises funds to enable schools, many in areas of high deprivation, to study Latin, Ancient History, Classical Civilisation and Ancient Greek. We offer funding to both primary and secondary schools and have reached over 15,000 pupils.

In 2010 Friends of Classics and the Joint Association of Classical Teachers established Classics for All as a separate, independent registered charity. Supported by all the main Classical bodies within the UK, Classics for All will raise funds to establish the teaching of Classics – Latin, Greek, Classical Civilisation and Ancient History – in state schools across the UK.

We are different from the other Classical charities: we do not seek to represent a body of members, produce publications or directly undertake teaching or other forms of academic work. We are devoted exclusively to raising funds to establish the teaching of Classics in state schools.
