Northampton Falcons Basketball Club (Kingsthorpe)

General information

Northampton Falcons was formed in 2014 by a small group of players who enjoyed playing basketball just for fun and to help improve fitness. Despite the numbers of players turning up to each session growing hugely over the years we like to keep that policy at the heart of our game.

We organise friendly matches throughout the year with other local teams and have taken part in the Northants Summer League for the first time in 2016. Our aim is to build the club to a level where we can offer our members the chance to take part in the Northants Basketball League in 2017/18.

We only currently run 1 team and there is no barrier of entry, if you want to play and turn up to training – you play! Each week we also run a scrimmage session so if you don't feel you are ready to play against other teams these sessions are great fun and include a diverse range of players.

Sessions are 2 hours long and are £6 for turn up and play or £5 if you pay for 4 or more sessions up front. We also offer a reduced rate of £4 for U18's. We currently aim to play every Thursday, 7.30pm-9.30pm at Kingsthorpe Community College however it is worth getting in touch beforehand via our Facebook page or email to ensure that the time and venue hasn't changed.

Some of our players started with us with zero experience of basketball and others have played for year, there's also a wide range of ages and fitness levels! We just ask you give it your 100%! We do not currently run any youth teams, our youngest members are currently 16 but the average age is much higher. If you're interested in youth sessions then get in touch and we can help find something for you.

Northampton Falcons have 3 players who are Level 1 Basketball Coaches, we aim to have at least one level 2 coach before the 2017/18 Northants Basketball League begins. Whether you are interested on bringing your skills up or are new to the game and want to know absolutely anything there is to know then these 3 members are happy to offer advice and coaching during the sessions.
