Riverside, Holiday Cottage

General information

Right on the banks of the River Wye – with spectacular views across the Wye Valley and overlooking Tintern Abbey – stands this comfortable, 18th Century stone-built holiday cottage. It has its own terrace adjacent to the river (with railings, but children beware!) and a small lawned area with barbecue. Many local pubs offer home-made food. The beautiful surrounding countryside is excellent for walkers and dog owners alike, with Offa’s Dyke and the Brecon Beacons also within easy reach. Local fishing is available. There are eleven golf clubs and sixteen 18-hole courses within 20 miles from the property (one was the venue for the 2010 Ryder Cup). Monmouthshire also boasts six working vineyards with another four across the river Wye in Gloucestershire. Chepstow 5 miles, Monmouth 10 miles. Shops 0.5 miles and 1.5 miles, Seven pubs/hotels from 100 yards to ½ mile.

Your holiday cottage has a spacious, L-shaped sitting-room with open fire, exposed beams, stone walls and rugs on tiled floor. There is a separate dining room and a spacious well-equipped kitchen with breakfast bar. On the first floor is a beamed ‘vaulted ceiling’ landing. The large double bedroom also has a beamed ceiling with a stone wall. The second bedroom is a twin with beamed ceilings and overlooks the river. There is a modern bathroom with over-bath electric shower and toilet.
