Nat Hawes became partially sighted in 2003 due to hereditary corneal dystrophy and found she had time to begin researching the relationship between food and health whilst awaiting eye surgeries. Originally prompted to do so by her her father and friends serious health issues, her research rapidly broadened to embrace all aspects of nutritional health and she launched the website naturecures.co.uk in 2010 to share this knowledge. Visitor numbers grew steadily and by July 2016 the website was receiving an average of 3000 hits per day and had received over 2.5 million hits from all over the world without any form of marketing and acts as a barometer for health concerns internationally for all. Her 1130 paged book, Nature Cures, was released in December 2015 and is now available on the website naturecures.co.uk. The Nature Cures Health Clinic provides private consultations of natural ways to recover quickly from injury, surgery and infections as well as allergies, chronic fatigue, diabetes, digestive disorders, infertility, insomnia, obesity, pain and inflammation, mental health issues and most curable disorders based on metabolomics, nutrients and natural whole foods. Supplements are not advocated unless a blood test shows serious deficiencies. Nature Cures advises which natural remedies and whole foods should be added to the diet and which foods and hazards to the health should be avoided. Includes nutritious recipes and a personal food plan and nutritoinal advice for those that participate in sports and other intense activities.
