General information

I have taught the piano for over 30 years, predominantly in London and latterly in the south-west of England. I have a very broad teaching experience which has encompassed private and peripatetic teaching in both the independent and state sectors at primary, secondary, further education and higher education levels. I am capable of teaching the piano at the very highest level. I have taught many pupils of Grade 8 level and beyond and have prepared them for admission to university and music colleges. I have taught the advanced piano repertoire for a number of years, including the study of concerti and the preparation of students for the ABRSM Performer’s Diploma. Some of my former pupils are now successful teachers.

I have a very varied performing experience. I have performed as a soloist, chamber musician, orchestral pianist and accompanist at venues in London, Denmark, France and the South-West of England.

I am also an accompanist and have accompanied many opera singers and instrumentalists at concerts, master-classes and competitions and have acted as the official accompanist for various operatic and music theatre competitions. I have also accompanied choirs and have acted as an Associated Board accompanist for all grades on numerous occasions.
