I have experienced Dementia first hand with both my mum and my grandma suffering from the disease and I do not want my children to have to go through the same as I went through looking after my mum. So as a Nutrition and Wellbeing specialist I was excited to see that new research in the USA has been able to prevent and even reverse the early stages of Alzheimer's Disease through diet and lifestyle changes.
Over 65% of those with Dementia are women and up until now it has been something that we just hope we won't get and if we do start to show signs of memory loss we see it as a death sentence as there appeared to be nothing we could do. But this is now different, what we do in our 40's and 50's and even earlier can make a huge difference to our cognitive health.
