General information

Performance storytelling for schools, creative workshops for adults in creative writing and storytelling, themed events for corporate groups, senior citizens and social groups/charities. Talks and after dinner speeches, history talks including bespooked tales and tours for ghostly themed events, baby naming ceremonies and other official unique events catered for.

Helen M Sant discovered storytelling by accident. She moved to York from Leeds in 2003, to live a more creative life. While there, she ran the occasional ghost walk and told stories in a local bookshop at Halloween. Anne Mortimer, then literature officer for York Council, requested that Helen get involved in telling culturally diverse tales for a libraries project of stories around the world. From then on, Helen began to learn new stories, practise, gather and research tales from all genres and all parts of the world.

Helen loves sharing a tale with the audience and making them laugh. To date she has told tales in schools, residential homes, museums, festivals, parks, on boats, in tents, in woods, on the street and on stage. She is one of the country's most adaptable storytellers.
