Belleville is a 300-year-old landmarked property that has been admired by many over its’ years. It is believed that the house was first built in the 1720’s, whilst being restored over the years. Loved and admired for decades, Belleville continues to attract attention and intrigue.

Influential novelist William Makepeace Thackery stayed at Belleville as a young man. He later referenced the idyllic property in his best known novel, Vanity Fair.

The house boasts five bedrooms, three double and two single, arranged over three floors. There are four bathrooms, three of which are en-suite and all of which elude a classic charm.

Belleville is located on the Royal Tunbridge Wells Common in the renowned spa town of Royal Tunbridge Wells. The house is central and conveniently positioned in front of the main walk to town. Thackery’s, a famous Michelin starred restaurant is conveniently located opposite the house. As one of the most recognisable fixtures of the area, few passers-by would imagine that Belleville is now luxury holiday accommodation.

It is no surprise that the striking property attracted the attention of owner, Tanya Pallavicini Galizia, when it came onto the market around ten years ago. Tanya fell in love with Belleville’s unconventional character and charm. Tanya refers to caring for the house as ‘an ongoing privilege’.

A scenic five-minute walk away from Belleville is the town centre where an abundance of shops, restaurants and bars can be found. The Pantiles – a historic and picturesque part of Royal Tunbridge Wells, is a ten-minute walk away. Here you will find farmers markets and romantic summer nights of jazz music.
