John Schofield | Drum Lessons in Nottingham

General information

I am a passionate, dedicated and professional drummer with over a decade of performance, recording and teaching experience.

Teaching and performing regularly has only served to increase and intensify my love for music.
All my lessons are tailored to the individual. There is no curriculum you must follow, only a wealth of knowledge and experience to tap into.

There are no expectations on you as a student, only that you get stuck in and enjoy it!
​
As a beginner, you’ll learn a few basic rock grooves, some fills and a couple of snare drum rudiments to get you going.

We’ll then look at playing along to some backing tracks, or maybe a song you like, to bring together some of these ideas you’ve learnt.

From there, the sky really is the limit. With regular lessons, together with even more regular practice, you could find yourself progressing and feeling confident on the drums in no time at all. Before long it could be time to start a band!

Interested in taking grade exams? I can take you through the Rockschool syllabus, Grades 1-8
(Grade 6 and above will earn UCAS points).

As a more advanced/experienced drummer, you may wish to study the Moeller technique, perhaps some jazz or linear funk, or maybe even delve into the world of hybrid rudiments.

Lessons all take place at the Nottingham Drum & Guitar Centre tuition rooms in Nottingham city centre.

Lessons are priced at £25 per hour or £12.50 per 30 minutes
