General information

Our food is freshly made in our small kitchen, from scratch, by hand, to order. By mentioning freshly, we mean freshly! We don’t freeze, we don’t use ready-made or processed stuff, we don’t sell anything that is not made exclusively by us. If our cakes don’t always look identical that’s the reason. If they look lovely, it’s because of the royal attention to detail that we pay.

Did we mention we are Greeks? Well, we are. And as such, we love good and healthy food. Our country is home to some of the finest ingredients in the world, making our standards be nothing less than high.

We care about what we consume, hence about what we put in our food. Our ingredients are carefully chosen and at 80% locally sourced, from the Birmingham area (dairy products, flour, chocolate, real free range eggs from local farms, vegetables for our pies, etc). We do our best to use certified organic ingredients as much as possible. We also use ingredients that come directly from local producers in our hometown in Greece, e.g. honey or raisins. When it comes to oils, it is either good quality sunflower oil or 100% extra-virgin olive oil from our own family olive trees in Greece. We love olive oil.

We care about our environmental footprint too. Not only we source our ingredients locally, but, whenever possible, we use recycled packaging, paper, and compostable plastic.

We prepare and handle food according to the standards required for very good food safety and hygiene. We are Food hygiene Level 2 certified and registered with the Birmingham City Council.

In general, our food may contain eggs, gluten, nuts, and others. If you have any allergies or food intolerances, please ask for our help before ordering. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and low-fat requests are gladly accommodated. However, in case of special dietary requirements, please be aware that, although we carefully follow the Vegetarian Society of the UK and the Food Allergen guidelines, our food may be cross contaminated with nuts or other allergens, and our home kitchen is not meat free.
