General information
Swim Open was launched by Tom and Kat in the summer of 2016. Back then we were just two swimming teachers, working in a basement pool in the City of London, and frankly we were kind of bored of steamy, sweaty swimming pools. We had a dream of something bigger, better and much more exciting!
We wanted to escape the city and rediscover the type of swimming we really love – open water swimming, away from the crowds and closer to nature. So we took the plunge (pardon the pun) and we swapped our teaching uniforms for wetsuits and since then, we’ve never looked back!
…and it turns out we weren’t the only ones who were sick of swimming pools. Fast forward to now, and we’re at the centre of an ever growing community of awesome open water and triathlon swimmers who have decided to swap their suits for wetsuits and embrace the Escape the City mentality! The Open Water swimming revolution starts now…
