Forest School is an inspirational process, that offers ALL learners regular opportunities to achieve and develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning experiences in a woodland or natural environment with trees. Forest School is a specialised learning approach that sits within and compliments the wider context of outdoor and woodland education.
Amanda Newham of Chevin Forest School has been working with children and training the children’s workforce since 1995.
Amanda is experienced in working with children of all ages and adults. She has worked with and for a number of community and voluntary sector groups, Schools, Early Years settings - One of those was the Chevin Wool Project in Otley.
Amanda has completed the Forest School OCN Level 3 delivered by Forest School Education and is therefore now an accredited Forest School leader. Amanda holds a PGCE, is a trained First Aider and has over 20 years experience as a primary school teacher.
