OurPatch

General information

OurPatch is an unincorporated association operating as a non-profit social enterprise under South Hawk Residents Association (SHRA). Together, we deliver a range of creative horticulture projects that develop the local community.

We aim to renew the pride in our local areas and love to hear discussion of ideas from anyone who wants to get involved. Special training days will be provided for those who wish to help us run the group in a range of ways. Recognising existing skills, knowledge and experience is essential to what we believe in at OurPatch. We all have a lot to learn from each-other; sometimes what we need to learn/understand can be too easily overlooked and it’s definitely not all about plants.

Focussing on land alone, we have the potential to move into many new sites, creating employment and boosting the well-being of the economy. Want to talk about developing in to these spaces? Come and get involved.
Future projects inspiration for you to think about includes, Examples of tasks include learning about and growing herbs, fruit, vegetables (some for resale), trees, bushes, decorative plants, vertical gardens, composting initiatives and living willow structures. Also there will be games that make you reflect, games that encourage excersise, garden artwork like mosaics, painting, carvings and sculpture, tool sharpening, and potentially, mushroom cultivation, bike maintenance, and inspirational talks or outdoor business meetings too.

Understanding the potential of the project is strongly linked to the people power, attendance of needs groups, external funding and land. Anyone who can help in any way will get the most out of the project in-turn.
