General information

We design and produce a range of furniture, lighting & accessories. Our products are all batch produced or custom made with relatively short lead times as almost everything is done in our studio or produced locally.

We specialise in creating unique products from innovative materials and process, in an attempt to push the boundary of product evolution before anyone else.

"The best way to describe the process I use for design is ‘Holistic’. Imagine a circle divided into several sectors – Aesthetics, Materials, Processes, Ergonomics, etc. I refine designs by going around in a spiral trying to get to the centre where all sectors are perfectly balanced.Raw Studio designs aim for ultimate efficiency relating to sustainability, local manufacturing and the future.

My inquisitive nature as a child, led me to study mechanical engineering. I went on to study at the Royal College of Art, was very lucky to spend a year in Germany working in the Bauhaus and then spent time working with craftspeople in Japan. Being exposed to all three cultures was really magical, and I ended up with books full of ideas. Raw Studio was set up to turn these ideas into reality filtered through my holistic process into real products.

We want to make things that people will tell their friends about so very product has a background story or a hidden feature that can spark a conversation.

I am somewhere in between an engineer, a designer, an inventor and an entrepreneur… hopefully, sort of a happy medium between them all."
