General information

I am a qualified Person Centred Counsellor. I am Registered with the British Association Counselling and Psychotherapy BACP. I also have a clean DBS.

I made the decision to study the person centred approach, when I attended therapy myself for bereavement. I found the experience insightful and empowering. I started my training in 2004 and found that to be empathic to situations I needed more life experience, therefore, I continued with my carer within the care sector gaining valuable experience within the person centred approach. I continued my studies in 2013 at MMU gaining a Diploma in Person Centred Counselling. I will continue to learn and attend further training courses.

Person Centred Counselling is led by you the Client, as I believe, as does the founder of the Person Centred Approach, Carl Rogers, that you are your own expert. I am not here to offer advice or direction, as I believe you have the answers within you.

I work within a home environment, ensuring I abide by the BACP ethical guidelines and ensure your confidentiality is upheld at all times. You can feel free of fear and defences and be open and congruent to how you are feeling.

As we us work together, we will find the solutions to the challenges that you bring to me.

I have varied experience, from working with young adults in a School environment, to working at a local Hospice supporting people through their bereavement.

I am happy to support you with any issues that you may be facing.
