General information

I set up my own physiotherapy business after working for several years in the NHS. I found due to costing constraints the treatment times available on the NHS were too short to provide hands on therapy and therefore mainly exercise based.

I was, at the time, developing my skills in the field of bodyworks massage and myofascial release. My new found techniques proved to be effective in managing postural related pain but required a longer time spent on an individual basis with the client.

My aim for my own practice was to combine the clinical skills of a qualified physiotherapist with the hands on skills of the massage and manual therapists. My private practice has been going from strength to strength since opening in 2011. I have the benifit of great teachers such as Til Luchau and Art Riggs and I'm a keen follower of all things myofascial.

Fascia for those of you who don't know is a 3D web of connective tissue that binds and connects ALL structures in the body. This includes bones, internal organs, blood vessels and nerves. Certain faulty postures, the main culprit being the flexed/hunched position we adopt in sitting, cause the fascia to become thickened and tighten up over the years to make these positions more permanent. Fasci when tight can cause compression of nerves and blood vessels and eventually lead to pain.

Here at WBC our main focus is to relax and release this tightened fascia and provide people with the education to maintain a flexible health body.
