What is Pelagos?
A place – Pelagos is a Christian Spirituality & Retreat Centre based in the rural Buckinghamshire village of Prestwood, surrounded by beautiful woodland and open field walks. The centre has a large quiet room; smaller meeting room, kitchen, toilets and courtyard garden, an enclosed quiet garden and Holy Trinity Church are also on the site. Pelagos offers a place to retreat, reflect, refresh and refocus as well as a local centre offering excellent training and teaching to resource others.
A way of life – Pelagos has at its heart Jesus' invitation to, keep company with him and live freely and lightly, and this comes from our still centre as we stop regularly to pray and reflect in the presence of the living God. This rhythm of stillness, prayer and reflection not only shapes our daily life but also the programme we offer with our 3 annual retreat days, termly discovery days, weekly meditation group and individually guided retreats.
A community – The Pelagos community are travelling companions on the journey of faith. We are diverse, ecumenical and dispersed, yet woven together as a community by the Holy Spirit. We journey together through prayer, teaching and sharing, into the unconditional love of God so that we may carry His love back out into the world through our presence and acts of service.
