King Charles I School is one of the first academies in England to successfully set up a community interest company run by students.
Cattleya CIC was established in March 2011 and offers a range of bespoke alcohol-free cocktails and smoothies which are based on ethically sourced fruits from Colombia.
With Cattleya’s mission being to help increase the UK demand for Andean fruits, raising the profile of the exotic fruit sector, which has huge potential to replace illicit crops as an alternative, sustainable rural economy, our fruit purées are imported from Colombia by Fruto del Espiritu, see www.fruto.co.uk
Endorsed by and having the full support of the Colombian government's 'Shared Responsibility' campaign, as a 'not for profit’ organisation, Cattleya CIC re-invests any surplus back in to the company and donates a percentage of any profits to Colombia. Fruto del Espiritu also donates 5% from each bottle of fruit purchased by Cattleya to an educational fund to support the education of teenagers whose parents grow or process our fruit in Colombia.
