Warwickshire Walkies

General information

As founder of Warwickshire Walkies, I am lucky enough to have been brought up with a large variety of pets and livestock which has given me a wealth of hands on experience. Having grown up as an expat in Botswana and Oman for my father’s job with MAFF (Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food), now known as DEFRA (Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs), I moved to England in 1991.

Completing my education in Oxford, I then in 2002 went on to complete BSc a (Hons) in International Agricultural and Equine Business Management at The Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester. Following on from there I worked at a prestigious equine establishment in Lambourn, Berkshire and gained a number of different farming experiences with Blenheim Estate Farms and The Great Tew Estate to name but a few. I have developed an abundance of knowledge in pet care having myself owned not only cats and dogs, but tropical/marine fish, gerbils, guinea pigs, sheep, cattle, pigs, poultry and of course my beloved horse Monty.

My previous employment of 8 years was in high-end property and luxury homes, gaining years of experience working in and out of clients houses. I certainly can understand when appointing a dog walker, the need for complete trust to ensure the person is very experienced and reliable in visiting clients’ houses and I can certainly meet those client needs. My passion for dogs grew and grew and I decided to have a career change to live my dream of working with dogs. I was exited to combine my job with spending time with my adorable cocker spaniels Bonnie and Teal.

I have volunteered for Northamptonshire Police, St John Ambulance and West Midlands Ambulance Service and am fully insured and DBS checked. I have always been an advocate for supporting charities and currently volunteer for Pawprints Dog Rescue and the Leamington Night Shelter.

I am continually building my knowledge and experience with dog training and behaviour attending a variety of courses and workshops to ensure I am up to date with the latest information. I have completed courses with the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers with more courses, seminars and qualifications in the pipeline. Learning and education in something you are completely passionate about is addictive! The IMDT is the leading education provider for Dog Trainers and Behaviourists and is a Registered Learning Centre for The Open College Network.

All my passion and drive provide dog training, dog walking and pet services for Warwickshire Walkies as a full time career and absoloutly love my job. I would never swap it for the world!
