What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is a holistic therapy, this means that it treats you as a whole person and works to detect imbalances within the body to enable it to trigger its own healing responses to restore homeostasis and wellbeing.

Our bodies can be mapped out on our feet and reflexology works by stimulating pressure points and nerve endings in the feet (or hands) which correspond to the organs and systems of the body. Circulation is encouraged around the body and this can also give you a sense of relaxation and wellbeing.

Can anyone have reflexology?

​Yes! From babies to the elderly, reflexology is a safe non-invasive therapy. However, there may be some contraindications such as an unstable heart condition, so please contact me if you have concerns.

What can I Expect at a Treatment?

​​I provide everything you need to enjoy a relaxing treatment including a comfortable recliner chair, cosy blanket and music if you wish. I start by taking some confidential medical history and details of any medication that you are taking and we will go through any concerns you have or special requirements. You will then be asked to remove any shoes and socks so I can begin the treatment which starts with me cleaning and warming up your feet. If you do not wish for your feet to be treated or you have an infectious condition on the feet, I can work on your hands instead.
