General information

We are Carnbrae. A small upholstery company, specialising in the automotive & marine industries. Based from our costal workroom near Lancaster, we undertake bespoke commissions throughout the UK.

Bringing together fine leathers, cloth and traditional tools, we meticulously design bespoke commissions for every client. Crafted beautifully, by hand.

Design

We have a design philosophy which can be stated simply; As little design as possible. This means that less truly is more. Less cluttered and more ergonomic, relying on form lines and proportions that are brought together by the considered subtleties.

Beliefs

Tradition and innovation are not conflicting ideas. We believe in traditional upholstery craftsmanship combined with creative aesthetic flair. Our core belief lies in producing pieces that truly stand the test of time, through a non compromising approach to pattern drafting, materials and construction. Sharing our clients quest for perfection and luxury, we continually strive for nothing less.

Materials

The unique strains placed upon automotive upholstery and marine upholstery requires great importance placed upon every material used. Particularly with adhering to the latest safety standards. We choose materials in close consultation with our clients. Selecting the most suitable materials for their wide ranging requirements.

Quality and purity is balanced with desired use and environmental impact. Sustainably and the obligations we all share, are felt by us deeply. We do not shy away from the impact of the textile industry. Our material suppliers are evaluated for green manufacturing practices and origins.

Service

As most traditional enterprises readily acknowledge, mass manufacturing has limited customer options and neglected attentive service. Our reputation rests upon each of our craftsmen or women in our workroom. Committed to servicing our clients with fine quality pieces continues hand in hand with exceptional service. One is simply not possible without the other.

Legacy

Every upholstery project we complete and dispatch to our clients has an expected life span. Our work standing the test of time, combined with the customer relationships we build, is most prised. Continuing this trade a decade at a time, training others will hopefully leave a wider reaching legacy.
