General information

I aim to provide a happy, safe and caring environment for children to learn and to grow in a secure home environment. I offer a play based environment where children can learn about themselves, others and the world around them. My service is based on enjoying the outdoors and much of our time will be spent outside. I am child led in my approach and will work with you and your children to provide a home from home care. I believe in a natural parenting approach and am used to using slings to carry babies and toddlers.

I have a dedicated playroom, a small secure courtyard garden and a living room available for the children. I have an upstairs toilet and a bedroom upstairs for sleeping. I also have a travel cot that can be set up for babies to sleep downstairs if needed. I am willing to carry babies in a sling if that is what the baby needs. The garden has a play house and I hope to have a mud kitchen for messy play. I love growing plants and the children will be encouraged to help with the gardening. I have a clean driving licence.

Activities offered.

I offer many play based activities, craft activities and trips out. I enjoy crafts and I have a variety of craft resources to use including the use of recycled materials and upcycling. I live very near to Skewen Park and we visit it often. I also have many other parks available to visit to either just play in the park or its facilities, or to go on nature walks, such as the Gnoll, Victoria Gardens or Margam Park.
I use the local library to allow the children to choose their own books. We will visit museums like Swansea Museum. We may also visit places like Wiggly Farm Park and soft play centres. I attend the Struthers Playgroup on a Thursday morning and will attend local welsh language playgroup on a Wednesday. I am able to help older children with their homework.

Routines

We have a basic routine but I am flexible based on the children's needs and their routine. Each child will have time to play, to eat and to sleep/rest if needed. I have a weekly plan to give an idea of what I will plan to do.

Language

English is the language we speak at home but I am learning Welsh and my daughter attends the local Welsh school. I am willing to learn basic words/phrases in another language if needed.
