Little Acorns Early Years

General information

Gentle Steiner Waldorf inspired and nature-based sessions where creativity and exploration is nurtured in a homely environment. Come and join us in our Parent, Carer and Child Groups with nature crafts, baking fresh bread and organic produce. We regularly run outdoor sessions and host festivals from around the seasons for the whole community to enjoy.

It is our belief that the first few years of childhood are a once in a life time window of opportunity for children to follow their individual interests, explore, invent, discover and revel in a love for learning. Little Acorns aims to allow children to develop at their own individual pace by following the natural rhythms and wonders of the world around us. Drawing inspiration from the Steiner Waldorf educational model, we aim to provide a setting where children can flourish socially, morally, emotionally, and physically.

Little Acorns is co-led by Katie and Emily, both parents of toddlers, bringing unique skills and interests to the group. Katie has over 12 years experience of working with children as a Ranger and Naturalist with the National Trust for Scotland, specialising in outdoor learning and environmental art. While Emily; an experienced Legal Adviser, has a life-long passion for Steiner education, as a daughter of a Steiner teacher and former Steiner school pupil herself. She is currently Advisory Board Member of the Glasgow Steiner Community and has also been working with children and parents for several years teaching water-bonding and aqua yoga and is a Breastfeeding Network trained helper.

We currently run 2 indoor sessions and 1 outdoor session per week. Sessions cost £6 per child pay as you go or £5 when half-termly block is booked and £3 per sibling which includes fresh organic snack and any craft materials. SPACES LIMITED. BOOKING ESSENTIAL.
